Real Life Obedience & Manners

REAL LIFE OBEDIENCE & MANNERS LEVEL 1 CLASS -    (4mths and older dogs) 

These classes are designed to further develop your puppy's social skills as well as owners learning sound knowledge to help them better understand what their puppy's are now capable of achieving.  The classes will help those puppies that have just completed puppy classes or, for those puppies/young dogs that perhaps didn't get the chance to attend a puppy class.  

Exercises focusing on calming your puppy/young dog down; learning impulse control; teaching them to become more patient and be able to wait for certain things and helping owners teach their dogs to walk nicely on loose lead are all covered in these classes and more. 

Attending this class will be of great benefit to you and the relationship you have with your dog because as you will be learning ways to gain a nice structure within the household, enjoying the various ways that you can train whilst having fun and being valuable to your dog and, ultimately, know how to raise a puppy/young dog into a lovely well mannered, happy and balanced member of the family, which I believe is everyones' dream.    Also, having a dog that is able to make good choices when out and about too.   

Another important part to having a dog out and about and enjoying life is having the ability for them to respond to basic obedience and holding those obedience commands in a more and more distracting environment.    It's all good to have a sit, drop and stay at home... however you want to know that they are also capable of doing so in and around other people, dogs and whatever else they might find distracting and more interesting in the outside world.  

What is covered in Real Life Obedience & Manners classes  :-
 

• Understanding leadership - communication with your dog;
   
• Engagement with your dog via use of markers;
   
• Impulse control exercises i.e. - waiting 
   
• Stationing on mat - place training
   
• Basic obedience sit, drop, heel position & foundation of recall ( return to handler when called); 
   
• Loose lead walking;  
   
• Lead handling skills  and more !

Polite Manners classes  are held weekly over 6 weeks of 1 hour duration.  
(The initial week is held over 1.5hrs - no dogs attend) Weeks 2, 3, 4, 5 & 6 (dogs attend)

Duration:          6 weeks
